About the Scania S Series
The S Series arrived in August 2016 as the first of Scania's new generation and sits at the top of the range. It is the only Scania cab with a completely flat floor, which is what separates it from the R Series it shares a chassis with. Almost every S Series on UK roads is a long-haul tractor unit running at 44 tonnes.

What to check before you order
- S and R Series share a great deal of running gear, so engines, gearboxes and axles often cross between the two. The cab structure and interior trim do not.
- The flat floor means S Series interior panels, steps and tunnel trim are specific to the S and will not carry over from an R.
- V8 trucks run the DC16. Check whether you need a Euro 6 unit or one of the later higher-output versions before ordering.
