About the Scania 3 Series
The 3 Series ran from 1987 and took International Truck of the Year in 1989, the first of Scania's five wins. It introduced the Streamline cab, which brought a lower-drag grille and better cab-side air management. Model numbers again follow the engine: 93 for the 9 litre, 113 for the 11 litre and 143 for the 14 litre V8. Very few remain in daily haulage, so most demand now is restoration and export.

What to check before you order
- Supply is now entirely used and reclaimed. Nothing on this generation is still made new by Scania.
- Streamline and standard cabs differ at the grille and cab-side fittings, so confirm which one the truck has.
- Engine and gearbox parts are more available than trim, glass and lighting, which are the usual sticking points on a restoration.
